Graduation

I realize that I have not gotten around to posting the rest of our trip, but I had to slide this post in.

I thought that JD had finished finals a week ago, but we discovered graduation day that there was one more test left- how to put the dang hood on! We left for graduation with it still messed up, but I guess a buddy helped him out in line.

Spring Break Part 3- Redwood Forest

But before we get to that- check out these random cool houses.

Looks like this one should be in a scary movie.


The drive up the coast was lovely.






Look at how GREEN everything is. Maybe we were so mesmerized because we've lived in the desert for the past several years, but everything was breathtaking!






When there's a tree you can drive through, you can't pass it up.


This is the inside of the tree.




Welcome to the Redwood Forest. It is near impossible to describe how amazing it was! We tried to get pictures to show scale, but there's nothing like actually being there.


Look at how long that tree is! It goes on forever it seems.


This is the root system of one of the trees. This tree has fallen over and JD is at the bottom of the roots. Crazy!

Here is another picture of a tree that has tipped over. Our car is "driving" into the roots. Hard to see- it was getting dark.

Part 2: Celebrity Sightings

I guess Hollywood is the place for celebrity sightings. I didn't expect to run into so many while we were there. Maybe there was a "thing" going on that everyone was there for. We started by hitting the Skybar to see who we would meet. Our tour guide was right- a lot of celebrities hang out there.

Here is JD and Snoop! Couldn't BELIEVE it! And he was so cool about snapping his picture.


Then on our walking tour, we went to a movie set. Guess who was there!?! He's as goofy in real life as he is in movies!


JD met Jack Nicholson inside.


And then the PRESIDENT!?! What a trip!


"Yes, this IS my first time in Hollywood."

Oh wait. No WONDER no one would talk to us! These guys were great to take pictures with but awful conversationalists.


I've never been to a wax museum before, but this was probably one of the most fun things I think we did. They had props and you could touch them and we had a blast with the camera.
